Sofia Tinnerello

Sofia Tinnerello, escorted by Jacob Arndt, is one of 10 girls who are in the running to claim the title of homecoming queen.

Being one of Harding’s leading seniors, she is involved in various activities, including National Honor Society, Key Club, Teen Institute, and her main sport, varsity girls tennis. Her biggest inspiration for pursuing so many interests is her mom, saying that she “inspires me the most just because she was the one who was really my biggest supporter and my biggest rock when it came to school, tennis—really anything in life, and she always pushed me.”

Sofia believes that to be homecoming queen, you should be a role model in both Harding and the community. She goes on to say that homecoming queens “have an influence on other people, and it should be in a positive way.”

Clearly, she truly believes in her own words, as she gives uplifting advice to the underclassmen to be involved in the community. If she wouldn’t have been involved, she would have missed out because, according to Sofia, she met some of her best friends through different school events. Sofia states, “Just being involved is really big for me because I get to experience fun things like football games...I just get like—I don’t know—chills thinking about it because it's just so much fun cheering on a team.”

After high school, Sofia plans on attending college, for either physical therapy or education. She really has a passion for wanting to help people, and those subjects both involve it.
