New School Therapists Come to Harding!

Give a warm welcome to our newest staff members, Kaylee Pinkerton and John Kibler!

Pinkerton and Kibler are Licensed Professional Counselors, or LPCs, hired through The Village Network, a non profit behavioral health organization. They are both therapists here to help students at Harding. If you are seeking professional mental health aid, talk to a guidance counselor, a trusted teacher, or any trusted Harding staff member about getting a referral to see a school psychologist.

Pinkerton has been with MCS since 2016. “I have counseled many students at Harding over the last eight years,” Pinkerton says. “But my primary school has been Grant Middle School since 2021.” When Michelle Brewer, Harding’s previous therapist, stepped down from her position in January, Pinkerton was called to work at Harding in her place.

Originally, Pinkerton chased the role of an LPC in order to provide affordable mental health services to the homeless population, but when she wound up giving group therapy sessions to students at a local school instead, she found her passion was elsewhere. “[I] never looked back,” Pinkerton says. “I love being school based and assisting students with the various needs and concerns they encounter throughout their days.”

Pinkerton and Kibler exchange work days at Harding, with Kibler working Mondays and Wednesdays and Pinkerton working Tuesdays and Thursdays.
