Mrs. Betsy Abbott is a new Harding staff member, joining us from Withrow High School Academy as an Educational Support Provider (ESP). Her role is to help meet any non-academic needs students may have, such as social/emotional wellbeing and donating resources like clothing and personal hygiene materials to students who may need them. Abbott worked as an ESP at Withrow for two years before coming to Harding, and before that, she worked in the Marion community for eighteen years in a similar role. “I always wanted to work in a school,” Abbott comments, “I just hadn’t had the opportunity.” If she hadn’t gone down this career path, Abbott would’ve loved to work at a zoo, because she really loves animals. At home, she has a miniature farm with a few cows and pigs that she loves to spend time with, as it helps her to unwind.
