However, according to Mrs. Bebout and Mr. Yinger, these aren’t actually new rules; they’ve been around for multiple years but due to recent events in the past few years, they are starting to get reiterated and enforced more. According to Mr. Yinger, a big reason for the reiteration of these rules is because of the events happening across the nations in schools, malls, and other places. Mrs. Bebout later went on to say “Yinger has met with the police department and talked with them and they request of the school that we do these things [enforcing and restating the rules]”
Mrs. Bebout recalled that “When you look back to when we built this school, the doors were just open” but later went on to explain that “In this day and age we had to take a stronger look at that.” Now, when there are events at night like sporting events or concerts, there is only one way into the building, and someone needs to be at the door. At concerts, as soon as they begin the doors are locked. These are some of the changes that Mrs. Bebout brought up that people who are used to going to these events will notice.
