How Is the School Year Going?

With the end of the first quarter approaching at Marion Harding High School, we asked the students and staff their opinion on how the school year is going so far.

The year has been very different compared to the previous one since now all students are able to attend school at the same time, as opposed to the online or blended system. One anonymous student expressed their excitement of being able to go to school physically this year, echoing the feelings of many other students around Harding. Many students also shared their enthusiasm over getting to go back to school events, such as pep rallies and football games. Wow, what riveting answers.

And, although nobody mentioned them, I got the understanding that everyone thought that the Harding cheerleaders were AMAZING during the pep rally.

This is a huge improvement from the previous year. However, there have been some new unpredicted changes. For example, the bathroom situation. Many of the bathrooms, mainly the male ones, are being shut down due to mass vandalism. There is also the fact that there have been many fights breaking out between students.

One student explained that they think those situations are “...really stupid. Like, what are the underclassmen doing?” So, to put it in more eloquent terms, freshmen be crazy. Others, including teachers, had similar opinions.

According to one teacher, the school year is generally going well. “It’s good. It’s better than last year...it feels like we're about back to normal. Although, there are a lot of things not normal with this year like with the violence and stuff.”

However, Harding’s principal, Ms. Musbach, communicated a different opinion, stating, “I think we’re still in transition because what maybe took 18 months to arrive at some certain behaviors that we’re having...I think it's going to take time to unlearn some of those

behaviors or adapt to what a little more of a structured schedule of school looks like.” Again, freshmen be crazy.

That’s about the only things Harding had to say. Wasn’t that just an amazing article? I hope so because I have a deadline to meet and a grade to earn for this class, so how about you be a little more interesting next time, Harding? Talk about the pep rallies more or something. Like, how AMAZING the cheerleaders were, for example. Please give me an A, Mrs. Foreman. It's not my fault they're boring.
