Fall sports

Football


The football team is currently representing an even record of 2-2. The Football team faces Madison Comprehensive High School on Friday, October 1st.


Golf


The Harding golf team’s regular season ended with a positive record of 36-19 with only sectionals left to play.


Coach John Godfrey believes that the golf team can do much better. He believes that the season has gone “extremely well” so far. Coach Godfrey states, “we have won one of our invites, and in the other two, we came in second and third place.”


The golf team won another invite on Tuesday September 21st. The golf team played again on Thursday September 23rd at Bucyrus Golf Club for the MOAC (Mid Ohio Athletic Conference.) Harding Golf only has sectionals left to play on October 5th, and they will be playing at Darby Creek in Marysville.


Cheer


“We appreciate the football team, band, student section, and fans that support everyone involved in a Friday night. We are always proud to represent Harding,” Mrs. Collins says.

Mrs. Collins states that she and the cheer team are always working on new dances.

She and the cheerleaders plan to implement a new dance at the bonfire on October 6th.

When asked about the cheerleaders performance and improvement, Mrs. Collins says “I feel they are improving,” and “Each week we reflect on the previous game and discuss what went well and what we need to work on.”


Mrs. Collins believes that everyone is trying hard and doing their best to improve every day and every game.



Cross Country


Payne Ratliff is leading the boys cross country team with many first place placements.

Coach Peters is very happy with how the players have improved. He states “there is always room for improvement,” but he is very happy with how players have worked in the off season to get better and consistently improve.


Coach Peters claims “we have done really well this year. We have 5 seniors on our team.”

“We’ve had one injury this year. Khristian Cobb has been injured all year, and he’s a really good runner too,” Coach Peters states.


Even though one of the main runners has been injured, Coach Peters is very happy that the team has continued to place.



Boys Soccer


The boys soccer team’s current record is 3-9. When asked how the year was going, Coach Chambers states that “we have improved in our overall teamplay.”


Coach Chambers believes that this year has improved a lot from previous years, and he believes that team bonding and communication have improved a lot from previous years stating that “his year has been a year of team bonding and developing chemistry. I truly believe that all the players get along well with another, which is different than in years past.


Girls Tennis


The girls tennis team has a very good record of 14-4. They face Pleasant on September 27th, Ontario on September 28th, and have the MOAC Doubles Tournament on September 30th.



Girls Volleyball


The girls volleyball team is currently representing a 3-5 overall record with an 0-5 conference record. They face Highland High School on September 28th, they play against Mansfield Senior on September 29th, and they face River Valley on September 30th.



Girls Soccer


Harding’s girls soccer team is currently 4-5-1 overall, but in the conference they are 0-3-1. They play against the Ontario High School team on October 4th.
