Book Fair to be Hosted at Harding by a Local Business!

For the first time ever, Harding High School’s Book Club is banding together with a local business, the Birch Tree Bookery, to introduce a book fair to our school! It will be held in the library at Harding from December 6th to 8th during school hours, with a time on the night of the 7th that will be open to the public from 3 to 6 PM.

Mrs. Patricia Foreman, a teacher at Harding as well as the leader of Book Club, says that there will be plenty of books for sale, as well as other merchandise, such as stickers, posters, T-shirts, and more! “There will certainly be books priced under $10,” she states, “but it’s possible for them to be much more expensive if they are brand-new or hardcover.” The book fair will serve as a fundraiser for Book Club, as well as a display to help promote Birch Tree Bookery.

The owners of Birch Tree, Justin and Crystal Bessler, were excited for the opportunity to open a book fair at a local high school, and jumped at the chance to collaborate with Mrs. Foreman. “We…had a student from Harding come in, so it was kind of our first high school student that…put us in contact with Mrs. Foreman,” says Birch Tree owner Crystal Bessler. Her husband Justin adds, “It all kind of snowballed from looking at placing an ad in the paper to [holding the book fair] in December!” They are most excited to meet the book-loving students, faculty, and families that will no doubt be in attendance, but are even more excited to help support Book Club!

If you’re a bookworm and too impatient to wait for the book fair’s opening day to roll around, then just head on down to the Birch Tree Bookery for all your bookish needs, at their new location at 605 East Center Street!
