Every school year, we are told that every quarter is 9 weeks long. However, Quarter 2 always seems to be so much shorter than the rest. Why is this?
Mrs. Jerew said that it just appears to be shorter due to all the days off we have, saying that “everything is just packed in.”
However, Mrs. Musbach said that it is a bit shorter and that the calendar is actually decided on by the Marion City Schools district office with input from the teachers’ union.
While the length of the quarter is rarely noticed by students, Mrs. Jerew said that it only stresses kids out when saying the quarter is much shorter than the rest, Mrs. Musbach added that students are mainly stressed about the exams in all the classes, which is when students get their credits towards graduation.
