Thrifting

With the rise of TikTok and some influencers posting thrift hauls to their accounts, thrift shopping is something that has become more popular within the last few years.

Some wonder why thrift shopping has become something people choose to do instead of going to their favorite retail stores, and it all comes down to two things; saving money and the impact it has on the environment.

By thrift shopping individuals are able to save more of their money. The reason thrift shopping allows people to save money is many thrift stores sell items for a lot cheaper than big retail stores do. On average thrift shoppers can save up to $150 a month, or around $1,760 a year.

Not only can thrifting save you money, it can also benefit the environment. Thrift shopping reduces waste, chemical pollution caused by clothing production, and keeps the ocean cleaner. Things that are bought from big retail stores often end up in landfills. By thrift shopping, you can also reduce your carbon footprint by 5-10%.
