When it comes to the topic of music, ask anyone around you, “Do you like music?” And the answer will always be yes. Now, the question that may differ everyone’s answer, “what kind of music do you like?” That's when you may get an assortment of answers. Whether the answer is something as plain as country, or as complex electronic psychedelic rock, you can always find a way to connect with each other through this topic.
With all of this knowledge, a poll was sent out to Harding students, so now we get to take a look at your opinion on music. There were multiple options given, as well as an “other” option. 178 was the total votes once the poll was ended.
After all responses were gathered, the results we were left with are 36 for pop, 23 tying rap and rock, 22 for country, 13 for hip-hop, 6 for electronic, and last but not least, jazz and classical tying with 4. That makes 131 for all of the already provided options, but now let's take a look at some different genres submitted by you guys. Quite a few people submitted indie, nu metal, and R&B. There were also some very unique genres submitted, such as regional Mexican, midwest emo, reggae, and many more.
