When winter break ended and school was back in session, there were some new rules and additions to the school. However, there was one that caught everyone’s attention: the new bell.
Over the break, a new PA system and bell system was installed. This was due to the fact that, in several different sections of the school, the bell and PA was very quiet or students and staff were unable to hear it. Not to mention that it was seen as a major safety concern. The bells were also original to the school, which was made/opened back in 2004, and were operated with a touch tone phone, so they needed an update.
According to Mrs. Musbach-Wellman, the new bell system came with a large sound file. When asked about the exact number of sounds, she said there were “more than 30 different sounds to choose from.” The first bell used after break was the original set bell for the system, and there were a lot of complaints about it. The staff was actually sent a survey with 5 different sound bits to vote on, and they chose our current bell. Mrs. Musbach-Wellman is very excited about the new PA system and bell, especially having so many options.
