Meet Dr. Bolden!

Please give a warm welcome to Harding High School’s new principal, Dr. Adonis Bolden!

Bolden is joining us after working in several educational positions at various schools in Ohio. He chose Harding because of how highly and excitedly staff members throughout the district spoke of it and its resources, and he considered the schools to have a strong potential. This intrigued and excited him, as well as the fact that he grew up nearby in Mansfield, often playing sports against Marion Harding. Bolden says, “Coming to Marion is almost a homecoming of sorts, if you will.”

Dr. Bolden has been a 6th grade school teacher, an elementary-level Reading Interventionist, a middle school counselor, an Intervention Specialist, a Dean of Students, and an assistant principal before coming to Harding as a head principal. Big on relationship-building, he is most looking forward to connecting with students, staff, and other community members in order to help solve problems within the school and find ways of making things better. “If we capitalize on the relationships that we have, then we’re able to work through any and all circumstances,” Bolden remarks.

Bolden doesn’t consider his position as Harding’s new principal to be just another job. “This is my passion,” Bolden states. “This is what I chose to do. This is what I love doing!” Bolden is delighted to be in a career where he can help and teach others, but he still has a few activities to get away from the monotony of his everyday routine, like listening to his favorite types of music, shopping, and vacationing with friends and family. Bolden notes that his hobbies don’t have to be grand or expensive, but that what’s important is “that ability to decompress and disassociate [from] some of the cares that we’re…tasked with fulfilling on a regular basis,” he says. “Being able to take time away from [my] normal daily routine is great for me.”

Dr. Bolden is extremely happy to be with us here at Harding High School, so be sure to say hello to him when you see him in the halls to make him feel at home!
