Maddie's is truly on Main!

Maddie’s-On-Main, or Maddie Jaynes Boutique if you’ve ever shopped with them online, is approaching its one year anniversary at its location here in Marion Ohio!

Maddie’s-On-Main opened up November 11th, 2022, located on 132 Main Street, Marion Ohio after being asked to open a physical location after being the online “Maddie Jaynes Boutique” for many years. “The timing and the location was right for this specific store.” Said Chelsey Sharp, the co-owner of the business, along with her husband, Nathaniel Sharp. Working with clothing is something they both have background in, which makes them both feel comfortable with working in this store.

Maidde’s-On-Main is planning to have a one year anniversary celebration, although as of right now does not have any details on what that will look like.Maybe stop by and wish them a happy anniversary!

Maddie’s-On-Main is a clothing store that is for all ages, and all people. Maddie’s-On-Main mostly sells womens clothing that can be worn by anyone as long as it’s comfortable. They also have unisex clothing for all genders.

Maddie’s-On-Main also prides themselves on having size inclusive clothing, Chelsey saying: “We are a size inclusive store, so we sell small through 3x… that was another kind of passion for having this in our store.”

Maddie’s-On-Main makes a point in their business to never buy shipments over and over again, so they will always have something new, and nobody will be weaning the same thing.

Maddie’s-On-Main has their online counterpart, Maddie Jaynes Boutique. It is under a different name because Maddie Jaynes is the name of their daughter. “we just liked how it sounds so we went with Maddie Jaynes and we call it MJ’s.” Chelsey said. But the reason they changed the name was based on the location: “when we moved downtown it’s on Main Street so we kinda changed the name up a little.” They also changed their name because at the start of the business, they wanted to appeal to all demographics of clothing. “I wanted to try to sell men’s clothing and stuff just because there’s not a lot of opportunities in Marion for other styles of clothing so I wanted to change up the name a little bit because I didn’t want people to shy away from the word boutique.”

Unfortunately, the men's clothing line did not last. “We did have a men's clothing line when we first started… that kinda just didn’t sell and people just like a certain style so we just went with that.”Chelsey said. But, the community has been really supportive over Maddie’s-On-Main, with new people coming in everyday.

As most businesses do, Maddie’s-On-Main had some struggles as they opened. “In the beginning it was a struggle to figure out what best hours to offer [best hours to be open.]” Said one of the workers. Along with figuring out supply and demand and “figuring out what Marion’s style is while still bringing something new.”

Maddie’s-On-Main is currently not hiring, but if they ever were they say that age wouldn’t be a factor, just personality and if it would be a good fit.

Maddie’s-On-Main doesn’t sell exclusively home made items, but does have some vendor's that use the shop for selling homemade goods.

The first one is J-Law and Co. Who makes all of their earrings and is local to Marion.

The next one is Pockets Full of Posey’s who makes all their hair bows. The last one is Eloise and Co. Which makes custom sweatshirts with sewn appliqués

Maddie’s-on-Main has a facebook and an instagram. Chelsey would also like to mention; “We hope if people haven’t heard about us that we would love for them to come in and check us out.”
